H A P P Y ---9 T H ---B I R T H D A Y--- A C T S! ! ! ! ! !

:"Acts church is 9 years old now!! "God has been faithful not only to keep us going but to keep us growing. It's possible to go and not grow, and it's also possible to grow but not go. In order to excel in both, we must endeavour to walk closely with the Holy Spirit and embrace the change(s) that He brings along the way. The Holy Spirit works in our lives mainly to keep us faithful, focused, fresh and on fire."

"If ACTS is going to continue to succeed, we need all these four ingredients. We need to stay faithful to our call and focused on our commission ie to seek and save the lost. We also need to stay fresh with the Holy Spirit's leading as to how, what, who, where and when – in order to truly influence the world we live in. And of course, the Holy Spirit helps keep our fire and passion burning for as long as it takes – which is essential to finishing well.

ACTS is committed in 2009 to exponential growth and supernatural exploits. Together we will build a new community centre (the Dream Village), that will be the centre of community. We will be environmentally responsible. We will fight poverty, feed children, educate young people, heal the sick, empower entrepreneurs and promote justice. We will commit to changing our world with the power that God gives to us. We will champion revival and unity, nurture dreams and dreamers, plant churches and penetrate communities all over the world with the love of Jesus!

Our mission is to "help people believe" and to help enlist, educate, equip and empower the call of God on their lives – that they may serve the Lord, shine for Jesus and shape the world they live in. We are on the search for 3,000 partners who will not only call ACTS their home but who will help us change the world! Are you one of the 3,000? Will you join our cause?

today post, i would just like to talk more about the church i'm standing now. ^^ because today is the 9th anniversary of ACTS church. the history were quite long. so i shall just summarized it k? ^^

" in 1994 (my birth year WOOHOO),God have gave a vision to our senior pastor: Kenneth Chin that revealed His heart's desire to bring revival and transformation to and through the youths in Malaysia and from Malaysia to the world. By the grace of God and with the support of his wife Sandra, Kenneth founded the Asian Youth Ambassadors (AYA) one month after his wedding in October 1995. Both of them than begin an exciting journey of faith that has seen God's faithfulness and power to transform lives of hundreds of youth till this day, turning them around to become purposeful, passionate and productive servants of God and responsible citizens of community.

In August 1999, while Kenneth was on a sponsored break in the US., God brought to his attention again the 'idea' of planting a church. This time, there was an even greater sense of urgency attached to it as if God was saying that if Kenneth would fail to do this, he would fail completely to see the fulfillment of the vision and thereby fail in his calling altogether.

By October of the same year, Kenneth took leave from the awesome church he was already serving to pray concerning the birth of this new church. Two young adults joined him and together the three spent as many months to seek God for His direction. They would meet at AYA Centre from November 1999 to February 2000 every Sunday for worship and prayer and a short devotion.

ACTS Church was officially birthed on the 27th of February 2000 with 3 more members added to the original three. Sandra had to stay back at their former church to help the youth ministry weather through the transition created by Kenneth's absence. She did such a great job that till today, relationship with that former church remains strong. Less than 6 months later, Sandra joined her husband and 15 others as new members of ACTS and immediately put her experience and expertise to help build a strong worship ministry.

God's call to both Kenneth and Sandra was clear and unchanging even with the birth of ACTS. They were to raise up a generation (just as David served his generation - Acts 13:36) whose first priority and purpose was to please God and do His will. God promised Kenneth that if he would obey to plant and shepherd a local church that would reach out primarily to the X generation, He would bless the work and transform the 'X' to become the 'ACTS' generation. He promised that this local church would be an international movement and a model to many and that if we will remain faithful to build according to His pattern, we will see "one generation praise His name to another..."

We continue in our journey - learning, changing and growing as we go - dependent on His Spirit and desperate for His manifest presence - desiring that lives be transformed and God be glorified... the story continues... be a part of our next chapter."
